Funklicious Thrifting

I live in the Metro Detroit area and we are certainly blessed with some damn fine thrift stores. It's going to take me a few posts to list them all, along with all their pros/cons. I will try not to bore you to tears. 1. Value World - located on Central City Parkway in Westland (across from Westland Mall). Pros - HUGE selection of big name brands. Value World has probably the cheapest prices around. PLUS they send out 50% off your entire purchase coupons and other coupon goodies if you go online and subscribe to the newsletter. Make sure to check the white board at the front of the store for the current day's sale. Cons - No dressing rooms to try on, so you take a chance when you purchase. Plan on wearing a tank top under your shirt. At least this way you can try on shirts/jackets. Let me just start out by saying that I LOVE clothes. LOVE. However, I don't give a rat's patoot about fashion. I just like what I like. What I don't like is paying full price for anything. Pretty sure my soul is a cheapskate. Therefore I thrift and I can thrift like a crazy woman. (In fact, I do thrift like a crazy woman.) I recently lost quite a bit of weight and needed to replace most of my too large wardrobe. I still am planning on losing another 15-20 pounds and dropping money on clothes when I'm going to need more is not happening. I figured why the hell not share my thrifting scores and clearance sale finds. Plus, I plan on sharing thrifting advice/ skills and perhaps sharing an upcycled project or two.
